A native of Albufeira, where he was born in 1966, very early he revealed the interest for the Arts.

Within this context, he had his first training in high school Tomás Cabreira, between 1982 and 1984,with the teacher Anibal Ruivo and the painter Rosa Trindade. Between 1983 and 1985 he attended the course of Oil Painting directed by the painter José Manuel.
In the various exhibitions and competitions he participated, he achieved awards in painting, sculpture and photography.
He is concerned and explores other aspects of art such as ceramics, photography, equipment design, interiors and advertising.
Some of his works are in national and international private collections.
Júlio Antão is a member of the ArtNations, Germany, being a founding member and president of Peace and Art Society - PAS, Portugal.

Over the years his stroke has become less defined, giving rise to more modern forms. the use of reusable materials in sculpture area carries a message of concern for the preservation of nature. It is through colors, shapes and textures that the artist makes us wonder about the world we are in and his belief in a possible involvement equipment with “other worlds”, present in his oil painting “Contacto”, with an award in 1997.
